Textile artist, Helen Westhrop, creates stop-motion videos and books from her ‘coathanger’ dolls. This set tells the story of a family who may have lived near the Thames/Kennet in 1850 – highlighting the changes a rural shepherd’s family would have encountered with the industrialisation of Reading. The image shows part of her installation at 2025’s Whiteknights Studio Trail.
